Project based learning comes about as a result of project-based instruction which encourages learners to participate in individual or team projects. Students can learn on their own and get a deeper understanding of topics as they learn beyond what is provided by the teacher, textbook, or school curriculum. Students are guided to pursue their own interests as they do the projects. Learning comes about as a result of student engagment in the project.

The use of the words “project-learning”, “project-oriented learning”, “project-based learning” is multifaceted, so it is difficult to offer you ONE meaning of these terms. One of the fundaments of all learning approaches connected to projects surely is John Dewey’s declaration “My pedagogical creed”, first published more than 100 years ago. You can find this declaration here on learnhub—I had the audacity to publish it as a course.
